Targeting Cancer in Scotland
The Clerk Maxwell Cancer Research Fund (CMCRF) is a Scottish charity, focusing on supporting research to help in the fight against cancer.
Cancer is the scourge of our time. Every year around 26,000 Scots are diagnosed and this figure continues to rise.
Leading oncologists and radiologists working in Scotland highlight substantial underfunding in the area in which this Fund focuses - new medical applications derived from the range of the electromagnetic spectrum, predicted by the great Scottish physicist James Clerk Maxwell.
There are pressing needs for small scale grants to fund seed-corn research projects like those already supported by CMCRF, as well as larger sums to fund clinical trials.
